Dear Fellow Chamber Member,

The Lake George Land Conservancy’s blockbuster lake-wide event, the annual Lake George Hike-A-Thon, is now in its 5th year!

Our mission is the same as always — to showcase the region’s parks and preserves as free public resources, and to promote a healthy, active lifestyle for kids and families, and appreciation for the protection of the land that protects the lake.

Since opening its early-bird registration phase on March 1, more than 450 people have already signed up, including 60 volunteers, and eight of the 17 possible sites all around Lake George have been filled.

People are looking for this event and telling their friends and family to join in.

We invite you to join us by becoming a business sponsor of this year’s Hike-A-Thon. This is your opportunity to support healthy outdoor recreation for healthy communities; spotlight the fantastic natural resources of Lake George; and promote your business to a highly engaged audience.

Hikes take place in the morning-hungry, thirsty hikers want to stop for food and cold drinks before heading home. Be sure to have your business materials in their goody bags and on banners so that hikers know where to go!

The primary deadline for sponsorships has been extended to Wednesday, April 12.

I know that’s coming up fast, but I can’t push it back any longer. To get your business listed as a sponsor in LGLC’s spring newsletter, which is mailed to more than 6,000 households, I must receive your confirmation by the 12th.

Posters and event rack cards with counter-top holders will be available and I’d be happy to provide these at your request. I appreciate any event exposure you are willing to provide, and I hope you believe this is a worthwhile cause to share with your guests and customers!

With loyal partners like renowned photographer Carl Heilman, II and Bruce Mowery of North Country Heliflite, the Hike-A-Thon is already an annual tradition for many of our participants. We hope you’ll be among them! If you have any questions or suggestions for the event, please do not hesitate to call or email me at 518-644-9673 or shoffman@lglc.org.
