Lite Up the Village

We’re kicking off the season to sparkle with the annual Lite Up the Village festivities on Saturday.

This start of the holiday season in Lake George is bigger and better than ever this year.

As always, admission is still FREE.

There will be bounce houses, pony rides and a petting zoo and fire pits starting at 4 p.m. in Shepard Park on Canada Street.

Then the Bobby Dick Show starts in the Shepard Park Ampitheater.

The illumination of thousands of lights in Shepard Park, fireworks and a parade are set for around 6 p.m.

New this year, there will  be a parade of fire trucks from local fire companies with a $500 prize awarded to the fire company that wins Best in Show!

Santa will arrive at Shepard Park at 6:05 p.m.

Meet Santa at the Lake George Firehouse, 179 Ottawa St., from 6:10 to 7 p.m., followed by a Lake George Community Band Holiday Concert from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

This event is sponsored by the village and town of Lake George, the Lake George Volunteer Fire Department & Auxiliary, the Lake George Community Band and the Lake George Regional Chamber of Commerce & CVB.
