Fall out of the ordinary

According to New York state’s I Love NY fall foliage map, the Lake George area is at peak color.

In Lake George, you can experience autumn in many unique ways.

If you’re looking for a great hike to enjoy the beauty of nature, check out the Lake George Land Conservancy website for trails in the Lake George watershed, head to one of our Visitor Centers or go to the Adirondack Mountain Club’s website.

When you’re done with that, check out one of the many fall festivals and events going on this weekend.

Adirondack Pub & Brewery’s 11th annual Oktoberfest is 1 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 15. This event benefits the Adirondack Mountain Club. Enjoy brats, beer, live music, guest breweries from around the state, a keg toss competition and more!

Adirondack Winery’s Fourth Annual Drink Pink Fundraising Event is Friday, Oct. 14 to Sun. Oct. 16. This event benefits breast cancer research. Stop in the Tasting Room for a free sample of Drink Pink Berry Blush wine, a special wine cocktail, wine tasting packages and more than $1,200 in gift basket raffles.

You’ve also got the West Mountain Fall Festival at the West Mountain Ski Area in Queensbury this weekend. Free admission! Click here for more details.

There are several more events this weekend (in addition to the regular attractions we have every weekend in October like Fright Fest at The Great Escape, the Fort William Henry Ghost tours or the Steamboat cruises on the lake.)
