10:00 am - 4:00 pm
Thurman, NY, USA
Three glorious weekends offer you a chance to celebrate the start of spring and the end of cabin fever just 15 minutes from Lake George! Featuring the largest Maple producers in Warren County and several neighboring farms, this is a must-do event, where nature is a way of life, and sugaring is second nature.
Watch sap being gathered and boiled and see how a Certified Tree Farm makes maximum use of the wood from maple its trees.
Visit an internationally-awarded farm and goat/sheep cheese dairy.
Stop in at farms that produce all-natural and/or certified organic products and take a cooler to transport some home. Enjoy a whole day of fun activities, demonstrations, wagon rides, sampling and shopping for delectable goodies, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. each day.
Like pancakes? Pancake breakfast or brunch at Valley Road Maple Farm is available each day, beginning at 9 a.m. and running until 1 p.m., so you won’t have to miss a minute of tour time.
Martin’s Certified Tree Farm will offer demonstrations of their sawmill operation, showing beautiful grains of the sugar maple, and wood sawed from a tree tapped in bygone days, as well as craft demonstrations and items for sale.
Just down the road, find Nettle Meadow Farm, with tasting of goat and sheep cheeses and, weather permitting, farm tours each hour.
Turn off Mountain Road to find the third generation operation at Adirondack Gold Maple.
On High Street, near the Toad Hill turnoff, stop in at Peru Llama farm to meet (and be kissed by) Critter, and learn more about llamas. (Be sure to gas up your vehicle before you arrive in as there are no Gas Stations in Thurman.)
