The Polar Plunge is an Annual New Year's Day tradition in Lake George! Start the new year off right by dipping your toes in the frigid, beautiful waters of Lake George.
This event takes place right in Shepard Park in the village and signups are at Duffy's Tavern located at 20 Amherst Street in Lake George.
New years polar plunge sign up starts on Dec 31 at 11 a.m. and continues until 5 p.m., then starts again on January 1 at 10:30 a.m.
The first 400 people signed up will plunge at 1 p.m. The second group of 400 people signed up will plunge at 1:15 p.m. and so on.
This year the cost to sign up is $10. The money will be donated to the Fire Departments involved in securing the event as well as The Springfield Shriner's Hospital for Children.
There will also be long-sleeve 2018 Polar Plunge shirts for sale for $10.
This chilly dive into one of the most beautiful lakes in the world is a fantastic way to revive yourself for the new year of 2018!
