Adirondacks -- When planning a vacation one must consider the dreaded “Rain Factor.” The idea of rain on a vacation sends chills up most parents' spines. The rainy day doldrums can be minimized, however, with a little creativity and planning. From laser tag, batting cages and indoor golf, to roller skating and indoor play centers, there is plenty to do in Lake George

Like anywhere in America, movie theaters abound. All of the season's hottest box office hits as well as cultural sleepers are available. There are plenty of quaint little coffee shops, cafes and pubs where you can spend a leisurely, calm afternoon reading your favorite book or catching up on the local gossip.

Masterpieces by Rembrandt, Raphael, El Greco and Homer as well as other famous artists are displayed at the Hyde Collection. The Chapman Historical Museum is a great way to spend the day exploring the area’s rich local history. The World Awareness Children’s Museum is a destination that offers children opportunities to become aware of world cultures. These three outstanding museums are located in Glens Falls.
The Adirondack Museum, located in the Village of Blue Mountain Lake, is also a must-see.
Of course you don’t need to wait for a rainy day to visit a museum, for there are many to see, each unique and interesting.
